Facebook's privacy settings have improved significantly over the years. Now you have much more control over who can see the content that you post than you did in the past. Read on to see how to block a specific person (or people) from seeing your posts, without having to unfriend them.
The steps below are written for use with the Facebook web app (facebook.com). If you're using a mobile app (iOS or Android) the steps may be slightly different.
- While logged into your Facebook account, go to the Your Activity editor.
(You can also get there by clicking the triangle in the upper right and then going to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Privacy > Edit.)
- Under "Your activity" click on the sharing level listed below the text box ("Friends", "Public," "Only me," etc.)
- Click "Friends except..."
- Type the person's name whom you want to exclude (or search for it)
- Click on the name
- Repeat the previous two steps to exclude additional people
- Click "Save Changes"
You can also specify which people to exclude as you post new content. Facebook will save your changes and apply them to future posts.
