How to print from a USB drive on a Ricoh Aficio MP 301 copier

On Ricoh Aficio MP 301SPF copiers that have the hard drive option installed, you can print files directly from a USB drive or SD card.  The process is very easy, and this guide will show you how to do it.  (These steps are very similar to the steps for printing from USB for other Ricoh copiers.)

To start, insert your USB drive into the USB slot on the right side of the operation panel.  A blue light should come on; if it doesn't, try removing and reinserting the device.  Then select Printer from the Home screen (or press the hard key labeled Printer, if there is one).

On the screen, select Prt. from Dev.  Select the USB icon (Mem. Device 2) and browse through the folders to find the file you want to print.

If you want to change any settings (a specific paper tray, double-sided, sort, etc.) select Detailed Sett. and choose the settings you want.  Once you have set up all the settings, you can select Preview to make sure you have the right file.

Select Start Printing and your file will print out.  Don't remove your USB device until the job has finished printing, to avoid any data loss or errors.  The supported file types include TIFF, JPEG, and PDF files (though some PDF files may not be able to be printed).  Some USB devices may not be able to be recognized, depending on how they are formatted.

    1. Does the blue light come on when you insert the USB drive? Check the settings under Administrator Settings to see if the USB drive has been disabled.

    1. If you don't see the "Print from Device" option, it may have been disabled. Check your Admin Settings or talk to your machine administrator.
